EcoCeres Pledges HK$2 Million Donation and Mobilises Employee Volunteers to Support Tai Po Fire Victims

EcoCeres has pledged a donation of HK$2 million to support individuals and families affected by the devastating fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po.

Hong Kong – 1 December, 2025 – EcoCeres Inc., a leading pure-play renewable fuels producer, expresses its deep sorrow and profound concern following the tragic fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, and extends heartfelt condolences to all affected residents and their families. Amid the heartbreak caused by this tragedy, EcoCeres has pledged a donation of HK$2 million to support individuals and families affected by the devastating fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. The contribution comprises HK$1.15 million from the company and an additional HK$850,000 personally pledged by EcoCeres’ Co-Chairmen, CEO and senior leadership team, reflecting their deep concern for the victims and commitment to the city the company calls home.

As a company rooted in Hong Kong, EcoCeres has always regarded the city as its home and is determined to stand alongside the community during this period of grief and recovery. Team members across the organisation have expressed profound sympathy for those who have lost loved ones, been injured, or displaced, and are united in their willingness to do everything they can to help affected families rebuild their lives.

In addition to financial support, EcoCeres is mobilising its workforce to participate in relief and recovery efforts. The company is providing paid time off for employees who volunteer with recognised NGOs, community groups, or blood donation drives supporting the Tai Po community, enabling team members to contribute directly while balancing their work and personal responsibilities. Employees are encouraged to work with their managers to arrange flexible schedules so they can take part in on-the-ground support, logistics, and other community initiatives.

“EcoCeres was born in Hong Kong, and our hearts are with everyone impacted by this tragedy,” said Matti Lievonen, CEO of EcoCeres. “This donation, together with the personal contributions from our leadership team and the volunteer efforts of our colleagues, is a small way for us to express our love for this city and our determination to walk alongside the victims and their families on the long road to recovery.”

The company conveys its sincere gratitude and utmost respect to the firefighters, police officers, medical staff and other frontline personnel who have worked tirelessly around the clock in rescue and support operations.

EcoCeres will continue to work closely with government-led funds and reputable charitable organisations to ensure the donated resources are channelled efficiently to those most in need. The company will also monitor longer-term recovery needs in Tai Po and explore further ways to support the community as it heals from this unprecedented tragedy.
